Error "Invalid Update Control CTF File" when updating AVG Anti-Virus 8.0











Your AVG Anti-Virus does not update?

The solution:

XP: C: \\ Documents and Settings \\ All Users \\ Application Data \\ AVG8 \\ update \\ download
Vista: C: \\ ProgramData \\ AVG8 \\ update \\ download

delete or rename the two files. ctf (avginfoavi.ctf and avginfowin.ctf).

Now you can try again with the Update.


Sometimes the folder "Application Data" is in hidden mode. To view
must proceed in this way:

* Windows XP / 2000:
Open the Start Menu> Settings> Control Panel> Folder Options

* Windows Vista:
Open the Start menu> Control Panel> Appearance and Personalization >

Folder Options Click the View tab and enable the option Show hidden files and folders.
